For a New Year's Resolution, I thought I should get in shape and take some dancing lessons. So far it's going pretty good!

We're moving it to January this year as the holidays are a crazy time to get people when they are free....so this year it's Sat Jan 30th! We expanded to three tables last year and I wouldn't be surprised if we went to four tables this year.
And last year we gave out money prizes to the top five as I don't want the stakes to get too high amongst friends and family. We had two teenagers in the money that were first time players - my point is...if you're willing to learn, please come. The game is easy and everyone is keen on helping.
The game is Texas Hold 'Em Poker. If you know the ranking of poker hands, the rest is easy. Here are some basic rules to familiarize yourself with the game.
I snagged a few of the more common poker terms that you may hear while playin. You don't need to know them but it sure helps make the game easier for you.
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd enjoy seeing sunrises on a regular basis. I could probably count the times I've seen 5AM on the clock on my hands....and now I see it every morning. It is peaceful getting up-and-at-'em that early and enjoy the World almost to yourself for a short while.
Good times on Saturday...I took Brody up to where we fly our hang gliders. The land-owner had his annual fly-in where mostly home-built planes fly in, have lunch and fly home. The weather didn't cooperate so only a few showed up but the one owner was nice enough to let Brody and me sit in his plane. Brody called it a 'mini-plane'.
I took the trek to Leamington to meet Phil Brown, a lone HG pilot in his area. We've exchanged lots of emails over the past year as I've had interest in flying from his area back to where I live (and beyond) as he's got some convergence lines that set up as he's squished between two of the Great Lakes.
Last week I went through my hang gliding instructor's certification (which also took me away from my Nissan Cube contest).
I've had many requests for updates on the Nissan Cube contest....what happened to my DAILY blog posts?!?!
Well, I had good intentions....I was going to do it. But here's the scoop...there's always a story with me. Not such a good one this time.
It's great to see my bro-in-laws businesses getting some press:

Support me by buying a Cube...somehow I doubt any others would....but knowing my buddy Bruce, he will do this!
Bruce sent me this note:
"I'll register a vote for your free car tonight. If you win... I'll buy one for my gf (her CRV is getting old and should be replaced) Pass this info on. My local dealership is Brasso Nissan in Calgary."
I've had a few questions on HOW to vote. I probably confused things more yesterday with mentioning Facebook....you DO NOT need a Facebook account to vote for me.
I put together this two-minute instructional video on how to vote for me - click here to watch the video.
